As part of the awareness raising actions and communication campaign, the staff of the Life project collaborates with other projects, entities and initiatives in order to spread the important message against the illegal poisoning in the environment.
The University of Crete-NHMC attended the International Conference on the Protection of Griffon Vultures in Cyprus. On 6-8 March the International Conference on the Protection of Griffon Vultures in Cyprus was attended by scientists specialized in vultures from Cyprus and abroad, as well as representatives of government agencies and non-governmental organizations concerned about the protection of this species. Fundación Gypaetus and Seo BirdLife joined efforts against the illegal poisoning in a training session for vets The Association of Vets for the Attention of Exotic and Wild Fauna (AVAFES) of Barcelona, organized on March the 14th a round table in the Faculty of Veterinary in the Autonomous University of Barcelona with the participation in session of the current Life projects against illegal poisoning in Spain. The Life project participated in the Technical Workshop on Iberian birds of prey The Technical Workshop on “Iberian Birds of Prey: identification, threats and conservation” was organized in the University of Granada (Spain) on March the 7th, 2013. The Life project participated with a lecture on illegal use of poisoned baits, and the innovative actions with a significant social burden and the creation of European Networks of Municipalities, Hunters and Stockbreeders against poison.
